How to Print and Download Letters from BetterLetter

You can now download and print letters directly from BetterLetter.

Where to find the ‘Print/Download’ option

On all letters pages, across all tabs, you will now have a Print/Download button.

  • The option is located in the top right corner of your screen, next to the Reject button.

How printing works

When you select Print/Download, the letter opens as a PDF in a new browser tab (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, and other supported browsers).

From this new tab, you can:

  • Print the letter directly using your browser’s print function

  • Download the letter as a PDF using your browser download option

🚨 IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTE:

If you download a letter, please delete the file afterwards and empty your recycle bin/trash to ensure it is fully removed.

This helps protect patient data and reduces the risk of sensitive information being stored on local devices. You are responsible for any clinical risk if you choose to download letters.

What the printed version of the letter will show

  • The printed PDF reflects the final edited version of the letter

  • All edits that have been made (rotated pages, etc)

  • There are no annotations shown

For best practice, we recommend:

  • Printing directly from the browser where possible

  • Only downloading when a file is specifically needed

  • Ensuring any downloaded files are deleted afterwards

Printing alone is the safest option, as it avoids storing patient data locally.
