When you log into BetterLetter, the Letters page is now your new landing base for managing letters. This page is designed to provide you with a cleaner experience and new tools to help you find, organise, and take action faster.
To help you get familiar with the changes, this guide walks you through the key features of the new Letters page, including:
Uploading letters
Assigning letters
Redirecting letters
Searching and filtering by Letter ID
Customising and sorting your columns
Using filters and quick views to find the letters you need (including searching by patient name/NHS number)
Let’s take a look at how to do the above actions!
Uploading letters
Uploading letters is now quick and easy from the Letters landing page.
In the top-right corner, select Upload letters. From here, you can either:
Drop files directly into the upload area
Upload files from your device
You can also select the arrow next to Upload letters to see additional options. This gives you the choice to upload a file or upload via email.
Assigning letters
You can assign one or multiple letters to an assignee directly from the Letters page.
Select the letter or letters you want to assign using the tick box next to each letter. You can also select all letters.
Click Assign.
Select the assignee you want to assign the letters to.
Click Assign letter to confirm.
This makes it easy to quickly allocate letters to the right person without having to open each letter individually.
Redirecting letters
You can now redirect letters directly from the Letters page.
2. Click Redirect.
3. Choose where you want to send the letter(s).
4. Click to confirm the redirect.
Searching for letters by Letter ID
The new Letters page includes a search bar, making it easier to find specific letters.
Simply enter the Letter ID you're looking for and it will take you to that letter.
You can also search for multiple Letter IDs at once, making it easier to find and work with several specific letters. When you search for multiple Letter ID’s, they will appear as a list.
Customising your columns
You can now choose which information you want to see on your Letters page.
Select Columns to see the available column options. From here, you can select or unselect columns depending on the information you want displayed.
This allows you to customise your view and keep the information most relevant to you always quickly visible.
Filtering your letters (including by patient/NHS number)
The Filter button gives you more control over which letters are displayed on your page.
You can filter your letters by criteria such as:
Practice
Assignee
Status
Patient
NHS number
And more
Select the filters you need and apply them to your Letters page to narrow down your results.
Quick views
For an even faster way to navigate your letters, you can use the quick views in the top bar.
These allow you to switch between different views of your letters, such as:
All letters
Preparing actions
All coding
And more
Simply click the view you want to see, and your Letters page will update accordingly. If there is a set of filters that you prefer, you can bookmark the URL of the page. This allows you to jump to it quickly without having to set up the filters again.
More ways to organise your Letters page
With the new Letters landing page, you have more flexibility over how you view and manage your letters. Between customisable columns, filters, search, and Quick Views, you can tailor the page to suit the way you work and quickly find the letters you need.
