How to Add or Remove Users, Task Recipients and Locums

Keep your team and task routing up to date.

Written by Sarah

There are users, the people who sign in to BetterLetter, and task recipients, the people and groups who receive tasks. Your superuser manages users. We manage task recipients for you.

Adding a user

Your practice superuser invites new users from BetterLetter. The new user receives an email with a secure link to set their password, then signs in at app.betterletter.ai.

Didn't receive the email? Ask them to check their junk folder, then use Forgot password? on the sign-in page.

Removing a user

When someone leaves, remove their access straight away. You can do this through the users tab in your practice settings.

Adding or changing a task recipient

Select Add a new workflow or task user in our live chat, then send us:

  • The person's or group's name

  • Their exact name in your clinical system: the Docman group or user, the EMIS user, or the SystmOne login name

  • Which tasks they should receive, for example GP review or medication changes

Names must match your clinical system exactly, including spelling and spacing. If they don't, tasks won't reach the right person. Copy the name straight from your clinical system if you can.

Locums

We can add a locum as a task recipient for a set period, or set up a shared Locum group so you don't need to update it each time. Tell us the dates and we'll switch it off when they finish.
