A few shortcuts can save your team minutes on every letter.
Coding
Quick Code tabs: press Alt (or Option on a Mac) plus the tab's number to jump straight to that type of code.
Highlight to code: highlight text in the letter to open the Quick Code bar with the right category already chosen. See our highlighting
Zoom where you point: hold Ctrl (or Cmd on a Mac) and scroll to zoom towards your cursor.
Highlighting on the letter
Highlight the same text more than once: close any open annotation pop-ups, then hold Shift. The existing highlights disappear, so you can click the first word and then the last word of the text you want. Keep holding Shift until you've clicked both. When you're done, the highlights sit on top of each other. To pick out a specific one, select its row in the coding table.
Combine separate text into one highlight: select the first piece of text as normal, then hold Alt (or Option on a Mac) and select the second piece, even if it's elsewhere on the letter. Both are combined into one annotation, for example a test name and its result.
Copy highlighted text: select some text on the letter, or open an annotation pop-up, then click the highlighted text shown in quote marks at the top. It's copied straight to your clipboard.

Tasks
Copy the usual GP: the patient's usual GP is shown in the patient information at the top of the letter, and above the Requests / tasks table. Click their name to copy it, then paste it into the recipient field when you add a task. It saves scrolling through the list to find the right GP.
The Letters page
Select a range: tick the first letter, hold Shift, then tick the last letter.
Find several letters at once: paste more than one letter ID into the search bar.
Save your views: set up the filters you use most, then bookmark the page. The filters are saved in the link.
Choose your columns: use Columns to show only the information you need.
Checking context
Compare letters side by side: open a letter from the Other Letters tab in a new browser tab.
