This August we have focused on improving the document editing experience, alongside further improvements to our AI and a number of smaller changes to make day-to-day processing smoother.
Document Editing
We’ve continued our work to make document editing easier and more flexible within BetterLetter, removing the need for you to find workarounds outside of the product.
This includes the ability to split, reorder, and merge documents, helping practices make common adjustments without needing to download PDFs, edit them in external software, and upload them again.
Splitting is currently available, with page reordering and document merging soon to follow.
AI Improvements
We’ve continued to improve the accuracy and reliability of our AI across BetterLetter, with further improvements to the information it extracts and how it handles letters.
These ongoing improvements are designed to reduce manual intervention and make processing letters faster and more reliable.
Task Update
In response to your feedback, we’ve also updated the way task generation evaluates data. If a user deletes a task, it will now be excluded from future evaluations, and it should no longer reappear.
Smaller Improvements
We’ve also made a number of smaller improvements throughout August, shaped by feedback from practices and how they use BetterLetter day-to-day.
On the Letters page, we have made some usability improvements:
Reordering the filters to make patients easier to access
Allow sorting and filtering by the person who released or rejected the letter
Lookup letters directly by ID
Changes to the letter editing view:
Adjust the layout to prevent the patient information from being obscured by the QuickCode bar
Allow the user to click named GP to copy to clipboard, thus making it easier to create a task for them
Elsewhere in the product, we have:
Fixed a user-reported issue where active users were still being shown as Pending in the admin’s user list
A useful feature you may have missed:
Some Docman practices have noted improvements to their experience by using one of our previous improvements, allowing them to have rejected documents marked by filename instead of Docman stamp. Despite positive feedback from those who have used it, uptake has been low so we’d like to take the opportunity to remind you of this feature.
Looking Ahead: September
In September, we're also introducing a new feature called Daily Pulse - a simple snapshot of your letters’ progress, with day, week and month views to help you quickly see what’s happening across your pipeline.
Also, your Letters page will become your new BetterLetter landing spot - rather than landing on Review, you’ll go straight to your letters. Coding (Legacy) will move to a legacy page, staying available for now before being phased out.
One of our other focuses for September is giving practices more control over the PDFs they submit to their EHR. You’ll be able to choose whether the highlights and summary page are included when a PDF is sent to the EHR.
We know this is particularly important to many customers who use patient-facing services, where they want greater control over exactly what information patients can see.
We’ll also be making a number of smaller improvements throughout the month, with more details to follow.
Further Ahead
Next, we’ll be turning our attention to improving the Tasks experience, with the majority of this work planned for October.
