Whether your new starter is an experienced coder or new to coding, this checklist helps them get started quickly and safely.
Step 1: Set up their account
Your practice superuser invites new users to BetterLetter. Once they've accepted the invite, they sign in at app.betterletter.ai.
Step 2: Complete the training walkthrough
Share the walkthrough for your clinical system. See How to Train Your Team on BetterLetter. If they'd like to go through anything with us, they can book a F/U session.
Step 3: Read the essentials
How our AI works: Coding Guidance. Every new coder should read this, because it explains what the AI will and won't reliably pick up.
Step 4: Show them how to give AI feedback
Make sure they know how to report anything the AI gets wrong. See Submitting a Quality Portal Report.
New to coding?
Start them on simpler letters and build up. Our Coder Complexity Matrix helps match letter types to experience. (Note: Save a copy and edit it!)
Pair them with an experienced coder for their first few days, and review a sample of their letters.
Watch the introduction to coding webinar in our BetterConnect community.
Tip: once coders are familiar with BetterLetter, most letters take one to three minutes. It's normal for new starters to take longer in their first few weeks.
